I am a reformed wildchild and a teetotaler who last boogied somewhere towards the end of 2005. I don’t feel the urge to be intoxicated at all but I sometimes do feel like going clubbing again. This “old bird” (as what Janice calls me) has not stepped inside Ministry of Sound, let alone St James Powerhouse, thus making a has-been clubber who is out of touch with the nightlife scene in Singapore. Fortunately for me, the Paki isn’t into clubbing (anymore) as well so we do really happening things like eating, lazing around and talking cock. I did mention to him a few times my desire to hit the dancefloor which usually culminates with a few half-baked plans of going. So on Wednesday, after much consideration, dillydallying and calculating, we agreed to go to MOS (using the acronym automatically earn me some cool points because it reflects a certain degree of familiarity with the place) with two friends. Well the queue was bloody long and I don’t remember having to line up more than 5 minutes to get into a club. While we’re still halfway in the queue, it was announced that there will no longer be free entry for guys. The Paki and Najib didn’t feel like paying $20 each so we decided to go karaoke instead, with Boarie and Alfian. Therefore I am still a born again clubbing virgin with my clubbing hymen still intact.

I had my first Thai class on Monday and it was interesting but awkward at the same time. Being able to speak fluently in English and (to a certain extent) Malay since a pretty long time ago as well as considering the fact that I chatter away at an alarmingly fast rate, I realize I have been taking for granted language and the ability to talk. I also predict future headaches once I start learning how to write in Thai script, which means no ABCs but instead, squiggly characters. I intend to learn how to cuss in Thai but I don’t suppose the teacher will be willing to teach me that.

1030 – Wake up, brush teeth, think of workload for next week
1040 – Eat breakfast, read papers, think about what readings to do today
1100 – Continue reading in bed, play with Siti, decide on readings
1130 – Logs on to the Internet, browse journals, chat on MSN, plan reading sequence
1200 – Search Imeem for songs, still chatting on MSN, think of which readings to do first
1300 – Listen to songs, think about River Island very nice $129 jeans, decided on readings
1330 – Still on MSN, think of what to wear later, think of what time to start doing the readings
1345 – Take a dump, think of how many pages to read
1400 – Blog, think some more

Well at least I am thinking and hence, not being completely slothlike.
