I had my first Thai class on Monday and it was interesting but awkward at the same time. Being able to speak fluently in English and (to a certain extent) Malay since a pretty long time ago as well as considering the fact that I chatter away at an alarmingly fast rate, I realize I have been taking for granted language and the ability to talk. I also predict future headaches once I start learning how to write in Thai script, which means no ABCs but instead, squiggly characters. I intend to learn how to cuss in Thai but I don’t suppose the teacher will be willing to teach me that.
