Hungry Ghost

I drank a bit of Coke during lecture and spent the next 45 minutes feeling and looking constipated because I had a lousy bout of wind-in-my-tummy ache. I barely digested the information and merely nodded on cue every five minutes. To make it worse, lecture ended close to 6pm. Why is that bad? BECAUSE EVERYBODY SEEMS TO BE ON THEIR WAY HOME AT 6PM. From the bus to the freaking MRT, I had to endure being in an enclosed space with a lot of people, some of whom are smelly. Why can’t everybody invest in a good razor and deodorant? The cost of both items in money is about $10 but the social cost of you smelling decent and not gassing everyone else around you to death surpasses the amount of money you spent. So I felt hungry and decided to get food from Causeway Point but it was already 7pm. Why is that bad? BECAUSE EVERYBODY SEEMS TO WANT TO STUFF THEIR FACE AT 7PM. There were queues almost everywhere and I ended up buying chicken wings from Cavana, which were average in taste and certainly nothing to burp about. I am still hungry. My mother cooked today but I do not like eating the same thing twice in a day. The Paki said it’s an expensive habit but oh well.

My sister also sent Siti to the pet shop to get her claws trimmed. The entire session took less than 15 minutes but it burnt a $20 hole in our pocket. If someone can do the same thing for $5, I will pay. I didn’t realize kittens eat so much. This naughty cat goes through 2-2.5 small tin of cat food everyday. That’s about $2.50 per day, which is more than what my sister brings to school every day. In a month, that’s about $75 per month on just food alone! My mother said that it’s like she adopted another child. I think so too.

After two days of school, I am exhausted. I am still in a wake-up-at-2pm holiday mood. Also, my printer decided to die on me TODAY when it could have died a week or two ago, which would have given me sufficient time to troubleshoot/send for repairs/get a replacement. Now I am unable to print materials for this week from home and I have to join the excited freshmen in the library to use the computers there. Ok I just remembered that there is an alternative location to print my notes but I will not disclose it here, otherwise I will have to bloody queue there too. Because I didn’t want to wait a long time to use the library computer, I decided to leave school and go to Causeway Point instead. I ended up doing something which I did not want to do earlier in the library – queuing, like the true blue Singaporean that I am. But it was for a good and valid cause.  The cause is my empty stomach and I waited in line for about 20 minutes to buy half a dozen donuts from Munchy Donuts in Cold Storage. Honestly I wouldn’t know whether a donut is good or not because I am not really a fan of it but I do like the white chocolate cinnamon and Oreo donuts. On the topic of food, the arts faculty canteen is finally opened! I miss the fruit juice stall. Where else can I get banana milkshake for $1.20? I am very thirsty now but if I drink water, I will have to use the bathroom later. If I leave my room to pee, Siti the kitty is going to want me to play with her or let her use my my toes as a chewtoy. I will pretend I am in a desert.

Meet the new member of our family, Siti!

siti.jpg

A few days ago my sister found Siti in a sealed cardboard box in a drain near her school and so she brought her home. Siti is now fat and jumping around like she is on drugs. I named her Siti after my grandmother because they both can be quite disoriented haha! She is very cute, even though she bit my toe this morning. That being said, I still want an exotic shorthair and I am still scared of other cats.
