I am getting quite tired of Thai, with the three times a week classes that cannot be skipped, the tone markers, the rules and the curly fonts. The fun of learning a new language is increasingly being outweighed by the workload and the difficulty. To make things worse, I got a lousy 7/15 for my most recent test, all because I was not careful with the stupid, stupid tone markers. This is my very first fail in uni and I am most UNHAPPY.

Tsk. Haiya. Sigh. Fucking shit.

Anyway I cheered myself up by using my hard earned money to buy a very belated birthday present for myself, so I feel better.

For now.

Selamat hari raya! My sister decided this year’s colour so the three of us were decked in different shades of pink for the first day.

I am embarrassed to say that I think I quite like pink, or specifically fuschia. However that is not to say that I am going to buy 10 pink tops. I will still stick to my earthy colours of browns, creams and whites but I will permit the occasional burst of brightness in my wardrobe.

So anyway, this year’s Hari Raya is meaningful for a number of reasons. One of it is that this year’s Hari Raya is somewhat a culmination of the positive happenings that contrasted so greatly with the personal disasters of 2006 and for that I will always remain grateful to the Almighty for restoring peace in the household. Secondly, it’s the first time that I am celebrating Hari Raya with this someone who has been absent for almost 2 decades.

Weighing machines are painful. They tell the truth.

If only there were no health risks associated with being fat, then we could all pig out, put on tons of weight and live happily ever after without having to endure comments and insults that are embarrassing and hurtful but nevertheless justified because of medically-proven facts supporting it.
