As expected, Thai sucked balls but everything else is fine. Remind me to be less lazy next semester and skip less classes as well as pay attention during lectures instead of talking/sleeping/stoning/not attending.

So tomorrow I get to know my grades and waiting is stomach-churning to say the least, especially when I blew one paper and kinda muddled through another. Then there is a need to decide on modules and ok for once, there are a bunch of interesting SEA modules available instead of just 2.
*SEA ranting begins*
1) I really, really enjoy SEA studies but I think there should be changes to the program. Firstly modules should be classified into different categories to allow for specialization instead of just a random mix of modules so that when you graduate, you specialize in areas like SEA politics or SEA economies or something. Right now you could sort of pick similar type of modules and indirectly specialize in an area but the problem is that the modules offered for a certain so-called “path” is limited and they also tend to overlap if you don’t pick carefully. It would be a good idea to have academic routes mapped out, flexible enough to allow students to decide their course of study but at the same time solid enough to give them a sense of direction.
2) During the meeting with the Visiting Committee, someone brought up the issue of the small number of SEA studies honours students. I blame language, seriously. We have to study a SEA language in order to graduate, it is not optional and learning how to speak and write well in a foreign tongue in 2 years or so is really something. It is also really difficult because not everyone is linguistically inclined and one miserable C for language can pull your grades down. Of course hard work and a lot of revision will save your language module but let’s be realistic how many of us are like that? It is definitely easier to pass a non-language module because with minimal work, you can bullshit your way out of an essay. You can’t do that with language. You either know it or you don’t. How about drafting a different grading guideline for language modules?
*ranting ends*
I would really like some lasagne now.

Too many people wearing Little Miss t-shirts so it is not surprising that my sister got one for herself – Little Miss Naughty. I could only snort with derision upon seeing her purchase because she is more Little Miss Nak Kene Terajang (err Little Miss Who Needs to be Kicked) or Little Miss Pemalas Haram (Little Miss Lazy As Fuck). She also was scolded a teeny bit even though her handphone bill amounted to $300. Her sms-es are in the thousands range!!! Who the hell sms-es that much? What for? Is there a need to even reply with an ‘ok’ or a ‘hahazZzZ’ only? Remind me not to pamper my youngest child when I ever become a mother. Speaking of phones, I broke my resolve to handle mine with care because I threw it today in a fit of anger (what else) BUT I threw it on my bed so all is good. My last phone, on the other hand, kissed the wall many times. Why was I pissed off? There could only be one person responsible for such a calamity and it is none other than the Paki. So I was mad at him and I refused to budge from my bed. I continued to stare at the ceiling while he tried to placate me and then suddenly he said “Will you stop lying down like Jesus and let me hug you?”
-_-
It cracked me up, nonetheless. Oh well, let’s see how he gets out of the next argument. How do you reconcile love and hate, because it boggles the mind.
