Filed under: birthdays, out and about

I have been working for about a month already and have been coping well with the working hours. Hell, I can now walk pretty fast up the hill on heels with minimal perspiration. Usually I’ll just be a bit tired on Mondays and Wednesdays because I have tutoring to do until 9pm on those days, but for the rest of the week I am fine. But now that my contract is coming to an end, with less than 3 days till freedom, I am feeling completely exhausted. It’s as if my body is finally registering signals of tiredness from my mind and now I just feel like taking a 14 hour nap. Since Monday, I have resorted to drinking at least 2 cups of coffee (yay for free pantry coffee) to remain alert and to suppress my crankiness. Doesn’t help that modules must be decided and timetable must be planned by this week.

On top of about 400 more books to deal with at work.

And tuition materials to be prepared as well as assignments to be marked.

And the fact that my first pay is not in yet, with my supervisor clueless as to when I will get it.

And that I have run out of makeup and I don’t have time to get a new one.

And that I have not gotten my fringe trimmed yet, hence exposing my fivehead to all and sundry.

I don’t even have time to post the remaining HK pics, but I will do it very soon because I know some of my friends want to see them. And yes Shazila, I have not forgotten about the “entry” hehe.

Anyway, last Sunday was my mama’s birthday so Happy Birthday once again to my mama!

Me and the Paki actually went home early on Saturday so that we can execute our plan. We wanted to surprise her with a cake and her presents at midnight. First it was almost thwarted because my mother was in my room when we got back, so I had to hide the present in the store room. Then it was later completely blown when she opened the fridge (because the Paki didn’t stop her as I had instructed!!!) and saw the cake! But we, including my busuk sister and Mok, surprised her anyway.

Bought the cake from SwissBake and it was good, with a crunchy biscuit layer in between.

That’s Mok joining in the celebrations, seconds before squashing the gift box. By the way my mother brings Mok to the market, madness I’m telling you. If cats can be leashed and be taken out for a walk, I am quite sure my mother would do just that to Mok.

Earlier on at Pepper Lunch with my boo(suk). It was the Paki’s first time, so he was very amused by the entire thing. He would not have picked out the place on his own as he is the sort of person who doesn’t see the point in paying money to cook his own food. Damn it now I feel like eating Pepper Lunch again.

A wedding we attended, that of Ari’s younger brother. Ari, when is your turn ah? This year we will celebrate your birthday with a doa selamat instead of a party, complete with bubur and marhaban so be prepared hahaha! In case anyone is silly enough to get us confused, that’s Nor beside the Paki and that’s me beside her. The last time we went to JB together, the silly immigration officer mixed up our passports and couldn’t tell who is who. Just because we are both short, brown and with a ponytail!

I also met up with the Misfits last week to celebrate Bulu’s 22nd birthday. By the way this was how Bulu used to look like, about 5 years back. Check out the cool, two-way jeans that she’s wearing. When you are feeling hot, you can remove the lower panel and turn it into shorts! HAHAHA!

In place of my face is a bouquet because my facial expression is stupid and the graphic is stupid too, I know, but I very lazy want to erase my face. THE POINT IS, that was Bulu then. This is Bulu now, top right corner of the pic.

Chio already! As Tom Jones would say, ~~she’s a lady, whoa whoa whoa she’s a lady~~ But still blur because she blogged about us eating at Fig and Olive when we actually ate at Terra Cafe!

My fren’s cat follows her to the mama shop and back, and he doesn’t use a leash. cute eh.

my mom is like yours, if only she can bring my cats for a walk, she will bring them down with her whenever she goes to NTUC. madness.
